Metal futon bunk bed is lightweight and come in many colors and styles. You can do the traditional twin-over-twin bunk beds from the metal if you have the basic tools and about a day to devote to the project. Buy pre-cut metal materials, or cut them yourself. Drill screw holes in the metal at the appropriate locations. Construct the bed in the bedroom so you do not need to move it after you build it.
Place a 41 1/2-inch metal bar in each end of the two 78-inch bars. Screw these together to create a frame rectangle metal futon bunk bed.
